The 28th Regular General Assembly of the Defense and Aviation Industry Manufacturers Association (SASAD) was held at the Sheraton Ankara Hotel & Convention Center, Tulipia Hall on April 20, 2017, at 15.00 on Thursday, with the honoring participation of the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Fikri IŞIK.
Besides SASAD members' company representatives; Defense Industry Undersecretary Mr. Dr. İsmail DEMİR, Deputy Undersecretaries of the Ministry of National Defense and DIU and executives of related departments, managers of other related institutions and organizations participated in the meeting.
In the first part of the meeting which is conducted in two parts; SASAD Chairman Selçuk Yaşar gave the keynote speech. After the Secretary General Hüseyin Baysak gave information about the 2016 study report and the balance sheet, the report of the Board of Auditor was read, and the Corporate Board and the Board of Auditors were absolved. After the May, 2017 - April, 2018 term Annual Work Plan, and Annual Draft Budget has been discussed and approved, the meeting was paused.
In the second part of the General Assembly, the Minister of the National Defence esteemed Fikri IŞIK addressed a speech about "Defense and Aerospace Industry's Current Status and Evaluations of Near Future" to the participants. At the end of his speech; the awards ceremony was held for successful industrialists according to their performances in 2016.

The 28th Ordinary General Assembly that brought together the representatives of the stakeholders of Turkish Defense Industry Sector and contributed to the improvement of the communication between them ended with the reception organized.
