Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI) as a Turkey's Aerospace Center and the world's leading helicopter manufacturer, Sikorsky Aircraft Company signed a contract at TAI facilities on 28 February 2017, which includes a planned cooperation to last 10 years.
The signing ceremony of the contract, which includes the production of structural components for various helicopter platforms, took place with the participation of TAI President Assoc. Dr. Temel Kotil and Sikorsky Aircraft Company President Dan Schultz.
In the first 10-year of the project, 270 million US Dollars value product delivery will be made. With the agreement, it has been planned that the cooperation between TAI and Sikorsky to be continued until 2044, including the option period and project volume to reach at least 500 Million US Dollars.
Within the framework of the contract signed between the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) and the main contractor TAI, the main subcontractor Sikorsky Aircraft and other domestic subcontractors, the cooperation accelerated with the "Turkish General Purpose Helicopter Program" which entered into force on June 7, 2016, following the US export licenses, has gained a new dimension through this contract signed between the two companies.
